Outpatient Psychiatric Services

Managing your mental, emotional, and spiritual health shows personal responsibility and a comittment to self improvement. Similarly, seeking help with life's challenges is a sign of courage and an opportunity for growth. At PSHDC, we view outpatient psychotherapy as a way to assist you in building upon your own interests, skills, and values; empowering you to achieve your life goals and enahncing your overall quality of life.

Diagnostic & Evaluation Services
The cornerstone of competent, effective treatment is a comprehensive evaluation and accurate diagnoses. At PSHDC, we strive to collaborate with clients in formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan, informing you of your options and, rather than simply labelling our clients, using diagnosis to guide the treatment process. We use both global and specialized assessments in our offices, and contract with local hospitals to provide psychological evaluations off-site. Assessment batteries may include:

  • Intelligence testing
  • Personality testing
  • Assessment for Attention-deficit or learning disorders
  • Mood and anxiety disorder assessment
  • Pre-hospital discharge assessment
  • Vocational and career assessments

Psychiatric Services
For most mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, a combination of medication and talk therapy yields the most effective outcomes. In conjunction with individual, couples, or family therapy, PSHDC offers medication assessment and monitoring offered by our experienced psychiatrists.
