Dr. Johnson is founder, Co-director, and Chief Executive Officer of Psychological Services & Human Development Center, Inc. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1982. He has served as the Executive Director of various mental health, and drug and alcohol treatment service agencies from 1972-1977, and was the Deputy Director for Community Programs at the Northeast Philadelphia Community Mental Health Center from 1982-1985. He has been in full time private practice since 1985.
He has been active in a variety of professional and community groups. He was an elected member of the Cheltenham Township Board of School Directors, and a member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists.
Dr. Johnson specializes in the treatment of emotional and personality disorders that are resistant to treatment. He is also well equipped to help children experiencing the transition from childhood to adolescence, and adolescence to adulthood. He welcomes your questions. |

Dr. Robison received her Psy.D. and her second Master's degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings since 1994, and has contributed to the professional development of other clinicians through consultation and trainings, and as adjunct faculty for Villanova, Arcadia, and Argosy Universities. She is co-author of a book chapter entitled “Residential Treatment Centers for Conduct Disorder”, published by Springer, and writes a monthly column on the topic of applying Dialectical Behavior Therapy with an adolescent population, published by behavioralhealthcentral.com.
Dr. Robison specializes in difficult to treat adolescent behaviors such as self injury, addiction, and oppositional behaviors. She also treats adults for issues such as trauma, mood and personality disorders, or addiction, and works with couples who wish to improve their relationship. In 2004 she began a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training group modified for adolescents which runs Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm in our Fort Washington office. She often runs additional groups, such as a mentoring group for older adolescents and children, and a trauma recovery empowerment group. Debra Resnick, Psy.D. obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1986 and has been in practice as a psychologist since 1979. Her areas of specialization include diagnostic psychological evaluations, therapy with adults, adolescents and children. She completed a child and adolescent internship. Areas of adult specialization include working with Borderline Personality Disorders and other at risk populations, in a comprehensive program that involves dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training. Margaret M. Preston received her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice. Dr. Preston specializes in self-esteem and empowerment issues. She has conducted numerous seminars and workshops teaching the importance of “being your own best friend”. Margaret believes that it is imperative to work with the individual to promote change both inside and out, coining the term cosmetic holistic approach.
Dr. Preston received her certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation. She utilizes effective evidence-based approaches for working with the most challenging clients. She continues to research issues related to self-esteem and self-perception. Aviva Schieber, LCSW, has been practicing in the field of clinical social work since 1984. She is a Board Certified Diplomat in clinical social work and certified in family therapy by Philadelphia Child Guidance.
Aviva Schieber specializes in work with young children and parents around behavioral and family issues. She works in a play therapy setting with children, incorporates parenting sessions, and facilitates family therapy . Ms. Schieber works in a developmental and psycho-dynamic approach involving school guidance counselors when requested, and family doctors if asked.
Aviva Schieber specializes in work with adolescents, in particular those with eating disorders, cutting, depression, victims of abuse, and involved in family stress. Individual and family therapy is offered. School and medical practitioners are consulted as needed.

She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Chicago.
She has over 5 years experience working at an eating disorders treatment facility (inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient), providing individual and group therapies for people working toward their recovery; for the past few years she has been working as the clinical program coordinator of an eating disorders day program and provide clinical supervision for PsyD students. In addition, she enjoys working with older adolescents and adults on common issues such as adjustment/life transition issues, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, health and wellness-related issues, women’s issues, career/vocational issues, and coaching (e.g. leadership development, emotional intelligence).
Her approach to therapy is to form a collaborative therapeutic relationship and create a safe environment where clients can openly discuss their struggles. Given the diverse backgrounds of each person, she places great value in providing an individualized treatment for each client. |
